Conservative dental treatments are the operative treatments of the teeth that can be seen in the mouth with the naked eye and concerned mostly with enamel and dentin parts of the teeth. In these treatments, the damaged and decayed parts of the tooth are cleaned and removed with special high-tech devices used in dentistry. The remaining vivid and intact tissues are isolated with special insulating materials and the process in completed by filling materials that mimics the structure of natural teeth.
Many materials have been tried as permanents fillers, however, amalgam (metallic) and composite (white) fillings are the common ones used today.
